Sourcing Job Candidates In A Bad Economy

By Cade Krueger

Recruiters can create a lot of success in finding job candidates even in a difficult market, but it comes down to following certain guidelines that can prevent your ship from sinking. If you do these steps then you will sail to safely to open shores.

A good job description for any potential job candidate needs to have some level of a wow factor in order to impress the person viewing the description so that way they make the decision to find out more. It needs to define the projects, the impact, and the potential future with the company.

Figure out who your candidate is and what they like because that will help you sort through a lot of pointless resumes. One of the best things you can do is to not judge your candidates by their resumes, but to look at how they act in your interactions with them. The best candidates usually don't have their resume prepared because they are not used to having to look for jobs.

It is common to see many applicants choose your competition simply because of the fact that your interviewing skills are not competent enough to compel a candidate to come on board. Focus on questions that will create a sense of urgency and excitement for the candidate to help them see that there is something special they can be a part of.

You have to know how to be able to close the deal when it comes to recruiting or else you lose your job and it is as simple as that. You have to help them very clearly see that this is going to benefit you and their is no option but to talk with me to find out a little more about it.

Next you need to have a good relationship between not only the job candidates, but also become a trust asset to your hiring manager or the corporation you are hiring for. The better job you do of building that relationship then the more trust you get to have more responsibility and more freedom.

It is significant to get technology involved like TalentSeekr from EnticeLabs, but that can only take you half way. You need to be good on the phone and understand how to communicate well with your clients.

If you begin to focus hard on reaching your job candidates and spreading your net as far as possible and then retooling your skills, then you are going to do amazing things in the recruiting industry. You find success that others have only dreamed of. - 16651
