How To Buy A Tie

By Victor Santerino

Articles on designer suits and suit brands are all over the internet. Unfortunately there really aren't too many articles written on the suits best friend, the tie.

I wrote this article to help men complete their wardrobe by buying a nice tie. After reading this article you will know how to properly buy a tie.

The fabric of choice for a tie must always be silk. All other materials look poorly and will not hold up nearly as well as a carefully made silk tie.

The length of the tie should be an appropriate length for your height. Remember that the tip of the tie should end at the top of your belt when tied and the back should never descend further than the front.

The width needs to be considered carefully before making your purchase as well. Make sure you buy a tie within the 3.5 to 4 inch range. Anything thinner or wider will look out of date and awkward.

The elasticity of a tie needs to be considered wisely when choosing a tie. Make sure the tie can bounce back to shape after you have wrinkled it some.

Finally, decide on a color and pattern that goes fine with the rest of your outfit. This will ensure that you have something to wear with your tie.

As always thanks for reading this article. Bookmark the page and come back to it as often as you find it necessary. - 16651
