Live Luxuriously Following Lupe Fiasco's Gold Watch Lyrics

By Ferda Shinsky

When you are sitting in your car and Lupe Fiasco's song "Gold Watch" comes on the radio do you find yourself wondering about the meaning of the lyrics? Do they have a deeper meaning? Do they contain some hidden secret as how you might live luxuriously?

These questions seem inherently unanswerable and perhaps only Lupe himself knows their true answers. Yet one thing is for certain, that Lupe's "Gold Watch" lyrics provide deep insight into the importance of social class in the society of the United States of America.

The items Lupe lists in the his song are undeniably ones of luxury. Whatever your opinion is of gold chains, fancy cars, diamonds rings, and most importantly gold watches, it is clear that they symbolize status in the eyes of society.

This reflects our constant need to obtain the next hot status item to feel like we are keeping up with society. Without that brand new Omega watch or set of Tiffany diamond earrings, many people feel that society will pass them by them and have their status downgraded.

So, what is the best guide to figure out which of these luxury items you need and watch are best not to waste your money on? That question is much easier asked than answered but, believe it or not, there is some method to the madness.

Perhaps the best way in keeping up with the latest fashionable trends is to spend some time at a local mall. This is not to say that it is always the smartest to "do what everyone else is doing". In fact this is usually not the best way to go.

A mall located in your town is a great setting to see what luxury items are currently fashionable. At the mall you can see, approach, and even in some cases try on or out, the very items that you feel match your personal style.

With this in mind, hopefully the next time you hear the "Gold Watch" lyrics instead of asking yourself about the song's meaning it will serve as a cue to ask yourself what luxury items are fashionable and best suit your style. - 16651
